Naples, Italy

“I’m in love. I’m having a relationship with my pizza.”
Arriving at Napoli Centrale was a little hectic. There are SOO many cars, but we finally got a cab and headed toward where we were staying (about 10 minutes from the station). We had the cutest Airbnb in Naples. The location was so incredible, just walking distance from the heart of Naples.
We started off our day by getting some Napoleon Pizza down the street. I looked up popular places that were open and this spot, L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele that had 17k reviews, so I thought this was the place we needed to check out. It ended up being the pizza place in the movie Eat Pray Love. The wait was a little long so we grabbed a spritz across the street while we waited. Finally, our number was called, so we sat down to order. They have two types of pizza; Margherita or Marinara. We both ordered a Margherita pizza and they were Bellissimo!
Later that evening, we didn’t have any plans for dinner, so we decided to walk up the street to the heart of Naples and see what was going on. It was really lively in the area and we ended up grabbing a couple of $1 spritzes, which was fun. We wandered upon another Michelin star pizza place called Sorbillo and decided we’d do pizza back-to-back and have a little competition between the two pizzerias.
After a short wait, we got sat down and we ordered another Margherita (for competition purposes) and one with prosciutto. Between the level of service, menu options and overall taste in pizza, Sorbillo ending up being the winning pizzeria.
Our second day in Naples, we enjoyed a classic Italian breakfast of croissants & espresso then headed to rent a car at the airport, a cliché red Fiat, and drove ourselves over to Pompeii for a few hours then back to our Airbnb in time for dinner. We had our last meal in Naples at Trattoria Don Vincenzo where the food was great and service was excellent. The next morning, we were off to the Amalfi Coast!
